A new theme park, could it really be Epic or does the name fall short. Well after experiencing it for ourselves it lives up to its name and then some. Super Nintendo World and Harry Potter: The Ministry of Magic are some of my favorite lands. Although, there is something about Celestial Park at night when it lights up it transports you to a different world. Our travel advisors Rebecca Peironi and Amber Robinson have have the details you need.
Universal’s Epic Universe is the biggest new theme park to hit the U.S. in years—and it’s absolutely packed with immersive lands, thrilling attractions, and themed dining that will blow your mind. Opening as part of Universal Orlando’s “south campus”, Epic Universe sits about 15 minutes away from the rest of the resort. But don’t worry—it’s still connected by transportation to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, CityWalk, and Universal’s resort hotels.
This is not a one-land-wonder. Epic Universe is made up of five fully themed lands—each designed to transport you to an entirely different world. Let’s walk through each one and explore what makes them unforgettable.

CELESTIAL PARK: The Heart of Epic Universe
Celestial Park is the first land you’ll see when you walk through the gates of Epic Universe. Designed as a central hub, it connects to the other four themed lands through glowing portals. But it’s more than just a launchpad—it’s a destination of its own.
The land is beautifully landscaped with tree-lined paths, sparkling fountains, and star-themed details that make it feel peaceful and otherworldly at the same time. Whether you’re starting your day or taking a break, it’s a great place to relax.
Two rides anchor this area: Stardust Racers, a dual-launch coaster, and Constellation Carousel, a whimsical, elegant ride that glows at night. There’s also Astronomica, a water play area perfect for younger kids to cool off.
You’ll find both full-service dining and quick-service bites here. The Atlantic features Victorian-aquarium vibes and surf-and-turf dishes, while The Blue Dragon serves up Thai, Japanese, and Chinese cuisine in a glowing, lantern-lit atmosphere.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON – ISLE OF BERK
Step through the first portal, and you’ll find yourself in the land of dragons and Vikings. The Isle of Berk is a must-visit for families and fans of the How to Train Your Dragon films. The colorful buildings, giant dragon statues, and carved Viking décor make it feel like you’ve entered the movie.
There are several attractions here, ranging from intense thrills to interactive play. Hiccup’s Hang Gliders is a high-speed coaster that simulates flying on a dragon. Dragon Racer’s Rally uses simulator technology to spin, dip, and soar you through the sky. For something gentler, Fyre Drill is a boat ride where you shoot water to help train your dragon.
For the little ones, Viking Training Camp is a huge playground with towers, slides, and even a sheep-launching game. The Untrainable Dragon show brings Hiccup, Astrid, Gobber, and a mysterious new dragon together in a family-friendly performance filled with effects and music.
I don't know about you but my daughter loves to have the ability to ride the thrill rides and immerse herself in interactive activities throughout the land she is exploring. The playground at the Viking Training Camp is definitely one of kind.
THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER – MINISTRY OF MAGIC
This new addition to the Wizarding World takes guests into the 1920s Parisian wizarding scene, blending Fantastic Beasts details with classic Harry Potter lore. Parisian alleys and cobbled streets give way to magical surprises around every corner—including wand-activated effects and hidden spell zones.
The centerpiece ride whisks you into the British Ministry of Magic, where you join Harry, Hermione, and Ron in a wild mission during the trial of Dolores Umbridge. Expect magical creatures, surprising twists, and a fully immersive storyline.
Need a break? Head to Le Cirque Arcanus, a live-action circus performance that erupts into magical chaos when Newt Scamander’s suitcase goes missing. It’s a great way to cool off and experience a show that blends stagecraft with Wizarding World storytelling.
Grab a snack or meal at Café L’air De La Sirène, which offers classic French baguette sandwiches and pastries in a charming Parisian setting.
DARK UNIVERSE
This land takes a turn into the spooky and mysterious, inspired by Universal’s classic monsters. The village of Darkmoor is full of dark alleyways, eerie lighting, and creepy vibes. This is definitely the land for horror fans—or those looking for something a little different from the rest of the park.
There are two big attractions here. Monsters Unleashed: The Frankenstein Experiment is a dark, intense ride where an experiment goes wrong and monsters like Dracula, the Mummy, and the Wolf Man escape. It’s meant to be one of Universal’s scariest rides yet. Curse of the Werewolf is a fast-paced coaster that starts off with a mystical backstory and launches you into a chase through the forest.
There are also some spooky-themed quick-service dining spots here. One must-try? The cinnamon bread from De Lacy’s Cottage—guests are already raving about it!
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD
For gamers of all ages, Super Nintendo World is pure magic. From the moment you enter, you’re surrounded by pixel-perfect recreations of your favorite video game worlds. Whether you grew up on Mario Kart or just picked up the Switch, this land has something to love.
The star ride is Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, where riders wear AR headsets and race through courses in real-time. It’s a mix of screens, practical sets, and gamified fun. Mine-Cart Madness is a high-speed coaster through Donkey Kong Country, while Yoshi’s Adventure offers a slower-paced tour of the Mushroom Kingdom.
Interactive games and challenges are scattered throughout the land, and with a Power-Up Band, you can track your progress, unlock surprises, and collect digital coins.
And then there’s the food! Toadstool Café serves meals that look straight out of the game. Think mushroom-shaped garlic knots, power-up-themed desserts, and fun, themed plating.
Planning Tips for Your Visit
Unlike Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, the lands in Epic Universe aren’t connected by paths. You’ll return to Celestial Park to enter a new portal each time you want to explore another land.
If you're staying at the new Helios Grand Hotel, you’ll have direct access into Celestial Park—and early entry perks. It’s a great option for guests who want to be close to the action.

Whether you're visiting for the rides, the shows, the food, or the immersive lands, Universal's Epic Universe is set to offer unforgettable experiences for every kind of traveler. Each land feels like a world of its own—and no matter how many times you visit, there will always be more to discover.
